Robert joined the Wet-seal team as our Purchasing and Inventory Manager in September 2014. Robert’s journey & education began in the United Kingdom until 1997, when he packed his bags & purchased a one-way ticket to Australia, originally to Perth then Sydney. Robert began his career in Australia as an Operational Improvement Engineer with Sunbeam Victa which quickly opened doors into a full time role with Strategic Manufacturing Consulting, which were based in Melbourne. During his 3 years with Strategic Manufacturing Consulting, he had the opportunity to work with a range of companies including BORAL, Dairy Farmers, Goodman Fielders, Blue Circle & Australia Post.
Following a lifestyle of living in hotels & at airports, Robert then set down roots in Melbourne working with Invetech. For the next 8 years he was engaged with many world class organisations including Fletcher Aluminium, Smorgon Steel, George Weston Foods, Honeywell, AMCOR, Air International & many Government Departments, helping them to develop new products & manufacturing processes through commercial application of technology, innovative engineering & design. In 2007 when Invetch & it’s sister company Vision BioSystems were acquired by US based Danaher, Robert assumed responsibility as the Danaher Business Systems Leader, essentially benchmarking, promoting, developing & implementing best practice processes.
In 2009 Robert transferred internally to Leica BioSystems (Danaher’s sister company) to take responsibility for the warehouse & distribution & spare parts departments. In 2011 Robert moved on to take responsibility for the entire Medical Device manufacturing function as Leica Manufacturing & Spares Manager, which included the management of quality, raw material purchasing, compliance, inventory control, production, team development & distribution.
With Wet-seal having such a great business ethic, Robert is enjoying sharing his experience with the team to help make Wet-seal the best it can be.
Having re-located from Melbourne, Robert is enjoying the beautiful Coffs Harbour climate and spends as much of his spare time as he can playing golf & spending time with his wonderful family.
