We were thrilled to learn recently that the Australian Standards Waterproofing Committee’s External Waterproofing Standard will be referenced in the Building Code of Australia from May 2013.

Mandatory waterproofing inspections aren’t required in some states, so this is fantastic news. Especially considering the marginal cost of a surveyor’s inspection compared to any expensive remedial work needed after shoddy installation or unskilled applicators.

It goes without saying that we always recommend paying for a wet area to be inspected.
