Why Use Water-Based Waterproofing Membranes?
In present times the building industry has seen an increasing trend towards green technology and materials. Government initiatives to reach zero-carbon combined with greater consumer concern over global warming have prompted industry to adopt new environmentally friendly “green” technologies and materials. Today green materials cover just about everything from green concrete and insulation to environmentally friendly water based paints and water based waterproofing membranes.
One way to reduce the Construction industry’s impact on the environment is to reduce solvent emissions. When solvent based paints and solvent based waterproofing membranes are used they release volatile solvents into the surrounding atmosphere. The emission of these solvents occur as the coatings dry and cure. These solvents are collectively known as volatile organic compounds or “VOC’s” and are known to contribute to the green-house effect.
This is why the coatings and waterproofing industries have moved towards “Low VOC” water-based products. Wet-seal are well aware of the high demand by consumers and the trends in the construction industry to reduce solvent emissions by using environmentally friendly products. That’s exactly why the Wet-seal scientists developed the water-based Wet‑seal Enviro-coat Waterproofing range. The Enviro-coat waterproofing range ticks all the boxes. The scientifically proven waterproofing technologies backed by CSIRO and BRANZ, coupled with environmentally friendly water-based formulations ensure the best waterproofing for both the consumer and the planet.
