Can you guess what our franchisees tell us is one of the biggest advantages of joining the Wet-seal team?

It’s being able to be your own boss whilst enjoying the security of an established head office backing you all the way. Some of our franchisees have been with us since we appointed our first licensee back in the 1980’s, so we reckon they know what they’re talking about.

They also tell us that being a Wet-seal franchisee is like anything you do – you’ll get out everything you put in.

When we asked Roger and Chris Brown, who have been running the very successful Wet-seal franchise south of Brisbane since 1987, what that meant, they said, “if you work hard and service your clients very well, you can have a great business”.

“Wet-seal’s reputation and products give you a big head start, but the rest is up to you – building relationships with local builders, being there when you are expected on a site is a vital part and finding the opportunities is also a major part of it, and that’s our job as franchisees.”

Many of our franchisees come from trade backgrounds, like building or carpentry, but it’s not an essential requirement for taking on your own Wet-seal territory. We give you all the training you need to apply and install Wet-seal products to the highest standards. The one thing a background as a tradie will give you is an insight into how physical the job can be at times.

There will be days when you spend most of your time crouched over a bathroom or laundry surface, installing our products. It can feel like back-breaking work at times, which is why we’d urge you to consider how you’ll manage the physical demands of the job as part of your decision making process.

Then there’s the other side of the job – building relationships. Roger told us he visited every building site in Brisbane when they were first establishing their business, making contact with people who have, over time, become valued customers that have helped them become our most successful franchise to-date. Now, all of their business is through word-of-mouth and they have many clients who’ve admitted to them they’ll only ever use Wet-seal products.

Going into business for yourself can often feel like a delicate balance between great reward and great risk. By joining the Wet-seal team as a franchisee, you’ll be able to tip that balance much more toward reward.
